When do we take time to try sorting out the most meaningful parts of our lives? How do we understand our story, where we come from and the people who came before us? What are the ways we each can apply the values and meaning which inspire us?
Is there a way for us to have an enlightening conversation without it becoming a debate or an argument?
The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee oversees a program called Education for Ministry (EfM) to help us answer these questions. The program is made up of four sessions, each of which lasts for a nine month academic year. Meeting with a small group of participants, we discover and explore our story and how we apply it in everyday life. Through reading, prayer, and reflection, we help each other move toward new understanding.
I am a trained and certified EfM mentor working with both groups, meeting in person, and online.
Please let me know if you have any questions about EfM, or if you would like to participate in an online group beginning this fall.
