Continuing Research for the 2012 Craft Brewery Pilgrimage

Continuing Research for the 2012 Craft Brewery Pilgrimage November 19, 2011

My research in preparation for the 2012 Craft Brewery Pilgrimage continues. I am a committed and dedicated researcher. I intend to leave no Stone untasted, and to check and recheck my results as many times as necessary to ensure that the best craft breweries in Southern California are included on our itinerary. It is a daunting task, but I accept the challenge.

My research is ongoing. Please let me know if you would like to recommend sites for me to research or, even better, if there is anywhere you would like to participate in this work with me.

Two craft breweries I investigated recently are very strong candidates, and both are in Orange County, California.

First, I visited Bootlegger’s Brewery in Fullerton with my friend Julie. Julie participated in this year’s pilgrimage, and prefers beers on the lighter end of the spectrum. Their beer is excellent, but I did not rely on just one sample. I had an opportunity to try their Mint Chocolate Stout, and it is amazing! If you have an opportunity, try it.

Julie and also visited the Bruery, which has locations in both Placentia and Orange. Of course, to be thorough and fair, we tasted the beer at both locations. Each location fits into its city, their hospitality is generous, and the beer is the same great brew in both places.  I picked up a couple of bottles in Orange to take to a potluck the next evening.

Research continues, and I will be reporting more results in the near future.  I look forward to hearing your recommendations, and announcing the schedule for the 2012 Craft Brewery Pilgrimage soon. Please let me know if you have any questions or recommendations, or if you would like to join the research team.

Please help me continue the revelry and make next year’s pilgrimage just as much fun.

Where would you like to help me research for the 2012 Craft Brewery Pilgrimage?
