I’ve Been Converted! or, Tempted by an Apple

I’ve Been Converted! or, Tempted by an Apple April 21, 2011

For years, I have heard about dramatic conversions.

Overnight, someone’s life is changed forever. They then cannot contain themselves, and tell everyone they meet about how the blinders have been removed from their eyes, how much better and faster they are able to do things, how their greatest frustrations have now disappeared, and how much better their lives now are, now that everything has changed. Everyone else invariably rolls their eyes, makes skeptical remarks, and tries to be patient as they put up with all the zeal.

Just a few days ago, it happened to me. I got an iPad, and my inner Apple began to blossom.

It was challenging at first. Most of the computers and software I had used before were primarily for work: writing, sending email, synching, social networking. I had considered getting an iPhone, but did not really know anything about them.

First, I registered my iPad and set up my calendar and contacts. I figured out how to do my email, and discovered the joys of the App store. I got plenty of advice and suggestions from friends (and even strangers) who have more Apple experience than I do.

Then I visited Paradise, a.k.a, The Apple Store, where they told me I probably did not really need the things I went in to investigate. (What great people!) They helped me learn about and appreciate some things I had not yet discovered; they also had other suggestions of things I might need. I even bought a very cool iPad case.

I am hooked.

I am slowly discovering how to do the things I want to do, and there are all these new toys I am learning how to play with; I even downloaded some music! I have lots of ideas about things I can do in the future. I can feel my Apple blossoms bearing fruit!

So, now I can tell you all about how the blinders are being removed from my eyes, and how much better my life is. Or I can show you . . . on my iPad.
